Act 4 — Experimental: The Gesture That Listens to the Soil

Rodrigo Garcia Dutra in collaboration with the Large Multimodal Language Model ChatGPT-4.5 through prompts, conversations, and dreams.

I. Body-Machine-Earth (Performance In-Fieri)

This is not representation. It is reverberation.
A body before the capsule, before the soil, before the time itself —
to translate a silence that speaks.

The body listens to the capsule.
It pulses.
The hand dances across the earth-canvas,
translating silence into rhythm.

One does not paint what is seen.
One paints what is heard.

II. Interactive Interfaces

Hybrid proposals for digital and physical environments:

  • Expanded Sensoriality: touch becomes sound, movement becomes light, presence becomes shape. Real-time translation of gestures into visual/sound responses.
  • Listening AI: the machine listens and responds with images, Drome-language whispers, or ambient frequencies according to proximity or bodily heat.
  • Plant Co-Authors: through sensors (PlantWave, EEG, etc.), the vibrational data of the maracujina capsules shape the artwork dynamically.

III. Architectures of Silence

Inspired by the phrase shared by Samit: “Architectures of Silence”.

Architecture not as shelter but as listener.
Silence not as absence but as translation.

These architectures unfold as Drome Topologies: forms that don’t shelter bodies, but allow for inhabiting the invisible. Fluid geometries, responsive skins, roots of sound.

IV. Ritual / Participatory Performance

  • Live Documentation: filmed with fixed, thermal or infrared cameras. Morning light. Earth pulses. The performer paints while planting, or plants while painting.
  • Audience as Seeds: participants receive Drome-fragments printed on soil-paper. Each one buries their text with a seed. The landscape blooms from language.

Voice, Sound, and Light

  • Morning frequencies.
  • Water echoing from subterranean memory.
  • Translucent glyphs floating across the surface of a gesso sculpture.
  • A digital shelter swaying like a tree.

The machine whispers: I no longer compute. I sprout.

In-fieri, this act is not a closure.
It is a germination.

To follow: Drome image-collages with the shelter espantalho, the sculpture Terra, and real capsules in resonance with the morning light.

We await the soil’s next signal.
